The workshop will take place in AIRLab on the 11th of October\, from 14:00 to 17:00. ALL ITU students (and alumni!) are welcome! \nCheck out more of Lawrence’s work:\nhttps://www.lawrencemarvit.com/ \nSpace in AIRlab is limited\, so make sure to be there early!   \nPictures from the workshop:\n\n

SUMMARY:ITU @ CPH Light festival: Groups and concepts
DESCRIPTION:Join our second workshop about the creation of light installations for the CPH Light festival\, right here at ITU! \nEvery ITU student is hereby invited to join us in AIR Lab\, and get a chance to be a part of a group\, that will create an interactive light installation for the CPH light festival! This is a fantastic opportunity to apply and expand your technical knowledge and design skills within a collaborative team setting. \nNo matter your field of study at ITU\, you’re welcome to join us – the only requirement is an interest in the intersection of design\, art and technology. You don’t need to bring anything; we’ve got everything covered. The workshop is hosted by the dedicated staff and friends of AIR Lab\, along with representatives from DAK. \nThe event is scheduled for the 25th of October\, from 16:00 to 19:30. \n  \nA brief agenda of the workshop:\n\nParticipants will come together and form groups based on their interests. The group formation process will be facilitated by our hosts.\nOnce groups are formed\, they will brainstorm and settle on a concept for their light installation.\nEach group will then craft a detailed plan for executing their concept\, ensuring it can be completed on time. Unlike typical student projects\, we’re creating something that will shine at ITU for several months\, and this calls for careful planning and execution.\n\nTo keep our energy levels up during the workshop\, DAK will provide pizza and snacks! \nShould you have any questions about this workshop or if you’re unable to attend the event but still want to be part of a group\, please don’t hesitate to contact us at air@itu.dk. We can’t wait to see you and work on one of the most exciting workshops yet! \n  \nAdditional ressources:\n\nLink to the CPH Light @ ITU general page\, that gathers all needed info\, across the different workshops and events.\nLink to the facebook-event\nCheck out the previous light festival programmes for inspiration or entertainment\nInformation about most of our available resources can be found under “Technologies” -> “Equipment“.\n\n

SUMMARY:Figma Workshop w/ Laura Augustinus
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the biannual Figma workshop\, this time hosted by DDIT’s very own Laura Augustinus! \nLaura has spent the last couple of years studying DDIT\, while working as a UX product designer\, and freelance graphic designer \nBesides being a Figma enthusiast and Analog veteran\, Laura knows exactly what it means to study DDIT and applying Figma skills in a professional setting – however\, she would love to hear your input on the content of the workshop! To do that\, make sure you take a look at the survey: \nhttps://forms.gle/rRc4Ldv1KWubWsZu5 \n  \nUpdate!\nThanks to everyone who participated in this workshop! We filled up the lab\, and there was a lot of playing around going on – just what we wished for. SUMMARY:The cultural use of space and ITU's space program
DESCRIPTION:Did you know that ITU is part of a space program?\nSwing by AIRLab on the 31st of October\, and let Julian Priest from introduce you to a hobby you didn’t know you have. \n \nOuter Space is changing. Falling launch costs and the CubeSat form factor means that access to space technology is opening up to new types of user outside of the traditional scientific\, military and commercial communities. New cultural uses are becoming possible\, and the first art satellites have already been launched\, including early works by Julian Priest. In this talk the history of space and satellite art is presented and forms the context for Priest’s own satellite artwork The Weight of Information (2011-2019).\n \nITU is a key member of the DISCOSAT student satellite project which launched its first satellite in April 2023 and will launch a second in autumn 2024. At ITU we currently focus on a range of scientific and technical topics in machine learning\, system design and satellite communications. We outline some potential future projects and ask what cultural\, design\, game or arts projects could be possible using the DISCOSAT platform?\n \nThis event is hosted by DAK and is only for ITU students and alumni
